The hooves of magic - The Best Fables with Horses!
Once upon a time in the country of Cloverdovea by the mountains and the river Iba there lived a herd of wild horses. The leader of the pack, a fierce and powerful male horse by the name of Rojelo was the most powerful beast in the entire of Cloverdovea. He was blessed with magical powers of changing his form into whatever he desired. His son Fredo white as milk was the youngest of them all. Extremely handsome and the fastest, he was the apple of Rojelo`s eyes. He was well behaved and loved by everyone.
On one fine summer day when Rojelo and Fredo were taking a stroll down the riverside, they spotted a man dressed in princely attire with a lasso in his hand searching for something. Rojelo instructed his son to hide, and both of them trotted into the shelter of a cave, Fredo asked "Father, who is that man, and what is he searching for?" Rojelo replied, "That is prince Roo, and he is searching for new horses to add to his collection." "Does he imprisons horses?" Fredo enquired. Rojelo replied in affirmation. Minutes passed by, and the father-son duo waited in the safe refuge of the cave. After a while, Rojelo stepped out and seeing no sign of the prince asked his son to come out and said, "My dear Fredo, I`m going to tell you something today. Never cross the river and venture forth into the king`s territory. Prince Roo is an evil man. He will capture you and keep you imprisoned."
Later that night Fredo was awake thinking how a prince who has all the riches of the world be this cruel could. He could not sleep. He told his elder brother a black horse by the name of Rolando "Brother I`m going for a walk by the river" and went away. Upon reaching the riverside, he heard cries of help from the other side of the river. Being kindhearted, he ignored his father`s warning and crossed the river to help out the needy. Out of nowhere, the ropes of the lasso coiled tightly around his neck like a noose and prince Roo captured him. The prince remarked “what a fine horse. You will be my prize catch". The prince took him away and locked him in the royal stable.
Next morning when Fredo was nowhere to be found Rolando informed Rojelo "He went for a night stroll by the river and never returned." Rojelo rushed to the river and realized the prince captured his son. He raced to the castle of the prince and saw the guards of the stable. Being magical, he changed his form and became prince Roo. He instructed the guards to open stable doors. The guards obeyed and Rojelo rushed towards his son climbed onto his back and raced away towards the river. On crossing the river, Rojelo climbed down and revealed his true identity to Fredo. Tears rolled out of Fredo`s eyes, and he said, "Father, I`m sorry. I should not have disobeyed you" Rojelo replied, "Fredo my son you have learned your lesson well," and they went back to their herd and lived free.
